‘RSE’ Talking About Relationships and Sex with Young People, incorporating ‘Get It On’ Condom Scheme Training.
This course will be delivered over two sessions in partnership with Solent Sexual Health, Hampshire County Council and No Limits. It will give an overview of the new relationships and sex education (RSE) statutory guidance, sexual consent, joining the ‘Get It On’ condom scheme, identifying local services promoting positive relationships for all young people and accessing Sexual Health Services. The second session is designed to support and enable participants to feel more confident in communicating with young people on issues of sexual consent; contraception and STI testing. Participants on completion of the two sessions will be able to provide condoms to young people from your work place.

Learning Outcomes
RSE 1
- Understand what is Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)
- Increase understanding of human sexuality and the impact on young
people - Explore key vulnerability factors that may impact on good sexual health
- To have practised engaging and communicating with young people
about relationships and sex
RSE 2
- Increase understanding of the Law and Confidentiality, including sexual
consent - Increase knowledge of contraception methods and emergency
contraception - Increase confidence to promote and distribute condoms in line with
Hampshire Teenage Pregnancy Partnership and Solent NHS Trust
condom distribution guidelines - To navigate the ‘Let’s Talk it’ and ‘Get it On’ Websites to signpost young
people to appropriate services providing contraception; including
condoms; emergency contraception; pregnancy testing; STI testing (in
clinic and on line ordering)

Let's Talk RSE - Train the Trainer
Date: 10th November 2022
A one day face to face course enabling participants to deliver the Let’s Talk Relationships & Sex Education (RSE) Programme (previously called Girl Talk, Boy Talk).
This course is aimed for those such as Youth Support Services staff, Youth Workers, Voluntary Organisations, Sexual Health staff, School Nurses, PSHE/RSE Teachers and Health Teams.
Delegates need to have completed: Talking about Relationships and Sex with young people, RSE 1 and 2, or by agreement with Solent NHS Trust Sexual Health training team.
Let’s Talk RSE is a multi-session programme delivered to up to 24 young people aged from approximately 13 years old and is designed to support those who may be more at risk of poorer sexual health outcomes, both emotionally and physically.
Learning Outcomes
- Recognise the value of Let’s Talk RSE as a framework for targeted RSE
- Be able to facilitate a 5-7 week RSE course within a range of settings
- Identify the process to successfully run a Let’s Talk RSE programme
- Explore the activities that are used to deliver Let’s Talk RSE
- Understand the importance of assessment & evaluation

If you are not a Hampshire County Council employee you must also register for a Learning Zone account (if you have not already done so). Please see instructions below;
If you have been contacted with your registration details and require these again, please email. Any new organisations (not previously registered) will need to contact Hampshire County Council via email to obtain their customer number, registration code and organisational ID. Once these have been provided you will be sent an email with details of how to set up accounts for yourself and others in your organisation. Each organisation will need to set up individual accounts for all members of staff to enable them to access the learning zone and book training courses.
Once the organisation has a customer number, registration code and organisational ID they can register here. Click the green button titled Register and under New User, click to register. Repeat this process for each member of staff with the same customer number, registration code and organisational ID but use their name, email and telephone number. Please make a note of the User ID (starting EXT…) – this will be different for each member of staff and is used to log into the Learning Zone – and then click the Submit button.
