Common STIs and Symptoms

The most commonly diagnosed STIs are Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Warts, Herpes, Syphilis and HIV.

Commonly reported symptoms are:

  • burning when passing urine
  • discomfort, soreness or pus from the penis
  • pain and/or swelling in the testicles
  • sores, ulcers, rash, blisters or lumps in the genital area, or around the anus
  • change in vaginal discharge
  • lower abdominal pain
  • pain during sex
  • bleeding after sex or in between periods
  • itching or soreness
