Psychosexual Therapies
What is Psychosexual Therapy?
We understand that it is often difficult to talk about intimate sexual problems. We aim to provide a warm and welcoming place where we can work with you in a confidential, sensitive and supportive way. We are a team of Psychosexual Therapists with special training and experience in supporting people with sexual problems. We are Accredited Members of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists.
We offer short-term therapy and therapy for individuals or couples. To access our service you must be aged 16 or over and registered with a GP in the Hampshire area. You will need to talk to your GP first to discuss referral to our service. Once your referral is received it will be reviewed by our team. If we believe we are able to help, you will be placed on a waiting list and offered an initial appointment as soon as possible. We aim to see everyone who is referred to us within 7 weeks of referral.

What happens in a Psychosexual Therapists and Therapy Clinic?
Your first visit or telephone call will be an opportunity for us to talk with you and also your partner if you wish. (It is often helpful to attend with your partner, but you can be seen on your own or joined later by your partner if you prefer.) We will listen to you and ask you some questions, so together we can begin to understand your concerns and discuss ways in which we may be able to help. There are no physical examinations; we will only ever talk with you. At the end of your first visit, if we agree that psychosexual therapy may work for you, we can offer you 6 further sessions. Sessions last up to 50 minutes. The frequency of sessions will be arranged with your therapist.
We offer video or face to face consultations, according to your preference. Video consultations are simple to access and your therapist will explain how it works at your first appointment. You won't need any special apps or software.
