Translators.

We serve an ethnically diverse population with more than 150 different languages spoken in the area. Clear communication is essential for safe clinical assessment.
Our staff are able to book a range of interpreting and translating services, in person or by phone, to enable effective communication with service users and carers whose first language is not English. For our patients’ safety and confidentiality, we prefer to use independent translators, so if you attend with a friend or family member to translate we will need to confirm with an independent translator that you are happy for them to be in the consultation with you. Please ask for a translator when you book your appointment. BSL interpretation is available, but advanced notice is required.
